Dr Marie-Sophie Heinelt
Marie-Sophie Heinelt joined DEval in August 2019. Previously, she worked as a research and teaching fellow at the Department for Political Science at the FernUniversität Hagen. She was a research fellow of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and visiting scholar at several universities in Latin America and conducted field work in Chile, Peru, Colombia and Panama. Marie taught BA and MA courses in Comparative Politics, Democratization and Environmental Policy. In her dissertation she analysed the effects of minority rights in the context of environmental conflicts in Latin America. She gained experience in development cooperation with the „Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit“ (GIZ) and the German Development Service (DED).
