Celebrating 40 years of OECD DAC Evaluation Network

On  the 15th and 16th of  November 2023, the Units for Evaluation of Development Cooperation of the OECD members came together to mark 40 years of the OECD Network on Development Evaluation. Since the 1980s, this working group has been working within the OECD towards common processes and standards of Evaluation. Furthermore. it has but been striving for an exchange of Evaluation findings, learning from each other and preparing and implementing donor community evaluations. DEval Director Jörg Faust has chaired the working group since 2021. The themes for the meet-up included the use of artificial intelligence in evaluation, compliance with quality standards in evaluation and the imperative of also including participants from partner countries in the evaluation work to a greater extent. For this reason, too, the meet-up was joined by representatives from various regions of the Global South, for example from Thailand, South Africa, Uganda and Indonesia.
