Our Evaluations

The development volunteer service "weltwärts" aims to enable young adults to act with global solidarity and responsibility. DEval examined how assignments abroad affect the attitudes of young people and how they pass on the experiences they have gained to other people in German society.

With its "Action Plan for the Inclusion of People with Disabilities", the German government set itself the task of systematically anchoring the inclusion of people with disabilities in German development policy. DEval has examined to what extent this ambitious goal has been achieved.

At the start of 2011 three organisations of German development cooperation (DED, InWEnt and GTZ) were merged to form the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). The purpose of the merger was to make Germany’s Technical Cooperation more effective and enhance its visibility. DEval examined whether the desired results were achieved.

This evaluation by DEval analysed how the promotion of agricultural value chains by German development cooperation has effects on poverty reduction and food security in the Global South. A close look was also taken at its effects on gender equity and environmental sustainability.
