DEval was established in 2012 with the aim of making German development cooperation more effective. With its organisational autonomy and scientific independence, DEval was an institutional innovation from the outset and remains unique not only in Germany but also internationally.
The institute has been performing independent and scientifically sound evaluations for the last ten years. The lessons learned from these evaluations and the resulting recommendations provide a basis for evidence-based decision-making in development policy. What have we achieved in these ten years? What lessons have we learned? How useful is our work for our target groups, and what will the tasks and challenges of development cooperation evaluation look like in the future? We will take the anniversary year as an opportunity to explore these questions in several events and publications. We would be delighted to have you join us there.
