Whether due to climate change, armed conflicts or crises of political legitimacy, state fragility and conflicts are increasing worldwide. For the last two decades, the international community has increasingly been engaged in some of the world's most fragile and conflict-affected countries. This engagement has been confronted with the unique challenges of operating in these environments.

Join us for an in-person event that brings together researchers and evaluators, implementers and policy makers involved in cooperation in the world’s most fragile contexts to discuss what has been learned from the experiences of the past two decades and how the international community can become better at drawing lessons and more effective in its engagement.

This English language event is jointly hosted by the German Institute for Development Evaluation (DEval) and the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) with participation of experts from the Bonn International Centre for Conflict Studies and the American Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction. The event will be followed by an opportunity to network over snacks and drinks.

WHEN? Monday, 15 April 2024, from 18:00 to 21:30 CEST
