Studies of Business Administration, Economics and Political Science at Mannheim University. Doctoral degree in Political Science at the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz. Head of department at the German Development Institute (DIE). Extraordinary Professor of Political Science at the University of Duisburg-Essen.

Member of the scientific advisory board for the Bertelsmann Transformation Index (BTI). Numerous scientific and practice-oriented publications in national and international publication formats. Extensive experience in implementing and managing complex research, consultancy and evaluation projects.
