Our Evaluations

In 2000, the Federal Government and Vietnamese government agreed on a programme to support wastewater management, with the aim of installing central sewage treatment plants in nine provincial capitals. However, the project was subject to delays lasting several years. DEval investigated the structural causes of these delays. The evaluation was completed in 2019.

German development cooperation supported the Philippine authorities in land-use planning over a ten-year period. The evaluation used rigorous methods to examine whether the planned positive impacts on the sustainable use of natural resources, local governance and disaster risk management did indeed occur.

The direct transfer of funds to the national budget of a partner country, also referred to as budget support, has been the subject of controversial debate for many years. DEval has investigated the effectiveness and also the sustainability of the effects of this instrument of development cooperation.

The development volunteer service "weltwärts" aims to enable young adults to act with global solidarity and responsibility. DEval examined how assignments abroad affect the attitudes of young people and how they pass on the experiences they have gained to other people in German society.
