Gender and Human Rights Evaluation Approaches
Incorporating a gender and human rights approach into evaluations led by public entities is key to ensuring that policies and programmes respond equitably to the diverse needs of the population. In this context, technical support has been provided to governments to integrate these approaches into their national evaluation systems. A notable example is the collaborative work with UN Women to develop the first gender and human rights-focused evaluation guide for the Ecuadorian National Planning Secretariat of Ecuador. Additionally, capacity has buildingbeen promoted for key actors, such as the Ecuadorian National Evaluation Platform and other public entities, to ensure an effective use of this guide. These actions strengthen the institutionalizationisation of inclusive approaches in public evaluation, aligning with international commitments on equality and human rights, as well as with the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs.
