Timo Kretschmer joined DEval in July 2019 after working at the World Health Organization (WHO) in Lesotho as DAAD fellow of the Carlo Schmid program. At the WHO he led Lesotho’s first national Hepatitis evaluation and acted as consultant for the Ministry of Health of Lesotho. He gained further professional experience at the microeconomic consultancy Frontier Economics Ltd. in London and as tutor and research associate at the University of Göttingen, where, i.a. he worked on the analysis of georeferenced satellite data.
Timo obtained degrees in Economics, with a specialization in Development Economics, from Maastricht University and the University of Göttingen, including study semesters in Colombia and Spain. In his Master’s thesis, he used georeferenced data to empirically analyze the impact of violent conflict on the health of children and adolescents in Sub-Saharan Africa.
