Julia Schäfer
Julia Schaefer has been an evaluator at DEval since January 2025. Previously, she worked as a project manager and consultant for monitoring and evaluation (M&E) at GOPA Worldwide Consultants. She has worked on various consultancy assignments, among others with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the Icelandic Ministry for Foreign Affairs. Her work focused on evaluations and results-oriented monitoring for development cooperation projects and programmes as well as the design and implementation of internal M&E trainings for other GOPA departments.
Prior to this, she completed the IDOS postgraduate programme and conducted research on the implementation of a WTO agreement on investment facilitation. She studied Economics and Politics (B.A.) at the University of Muenster and Development Economics (M.Sc.) at the Georg-August-University of Goettingen. She gained experience abroad in Zambia, Togo, Malawi and Rwanda.
