Dr Roman Krtsch
Roman Krtsch joined DEval as Evaluator in February 2025. Prior to that, he worked as a postdoc at the Universities of Tübingen and Konstanz. He completed his PhD at the University of Osnabrück in 2022, and did a research stay at the University of Maryland during his doctoral studies. In his research, he studied the causes and consequences of protests in autocracies, during civil wars and in post-conflict societies. He worked with geo-referenced data, and developed an event data set on the use of different forms of protest during India’s Maoist conflict.
Roman Krtsch holds a BA in Political Science and Economics from the University of Trier, and a Double Degree MA in Politics and International Studies / Politics and Public Administration from the Universities of Warwick and Konstanz. During his studies, he did an internship at an NGO in Thailand and worked with the German Institute for Global and Area Studies (GIGA) in Hamburg.
