African Development Bank Group’s Development Evaluation Week 2026
Building on the Evidence for Climate Action (E4CA) initiative convened around COP29 and COP30, this session will explore how Africa can scale effective climate action across borders. Drawing on lessons from development practice and evaluative insights across energy, water, transport, and agriculture, it will examine what works, what falls short, and what conditions matter most for turning climate commitments into measurable resilience and development results across the continent.

Africa is entering a new phase of regional cooperation. Initiatives such as the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), expanding cross-border infrastructure corridors, digital innovation, and regional value chains offer new opportunities to generate development impact at scale. These opportunities are critical for addressing shared transboundary challenges, including climate shocks, food security, infrastructure gaps, migration, and economic transformation.
Development Evaluation Week 2026 will bring together policymakers, development partners, evaluators, and practitioners to explore what evaluative evidence tells us about what works in regional development—and how this knowledge can inform better policies, investments, and partnerships across Africa.
Through high-level dialogues, panels, and evidence showcases, the event will focus on turning evaluation insights into practical actions that strengthen regional cooperation and accelerate development impact across the continent.
