28.09.2018 - To reform or to transform? What to do with the DAC Evaluation Criteria
The five Evaluation Criteria of the OECD/DAC remain a cornerstone of successful harmonization in development cooperation. Still, in the last years we have seen an intense debate around the necessity to reform or even transform the “Big Five”. In a new DEval policy brief Jörg Faust and Ida Verspohl argue that some serious reform effort is needed. However, due to the current criteria catalogues’ usefulness and its potential for becoming a more universal reference framework, the authors argue against a complete transformation of the DAC Evaluation Criteria.
