26.06.2018 - Development Minister Müller at DEval
On 19 June 2018, Development Minister Dr Gerd Müller and the management of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) visited DEval. Minister Müller began with a brief address to the DEval staff in which he emphasised the importance of DEval's evaluation work for the effectiveness and legitimacy of German development cooperation. The BMZ delegation – consisting of Minister Müller, Parliamentary State Secretaries Dr Maria Flachsbarth and Norbert Bartle and State Secretary Martin Jäger – subsequently held talks with DEval Director Prof. Dr Jörg Faust and other experts from the institute. The talks focused on strategically relevant topics such as sustainability in German development cooperation, reform partnerships with Africa, cooperation with the private sector, effective ways of addressing the root causes of displacement and how development topics are perceived and disseminated in Germany.
