30.10.2018 - DEval presents working paper at OECD workshop
On 22 October 2018, Magdalena Orth and Gunnar Gotz took part in the OECD workshop on 'The Next Step in Blended Finance: Addressing the Evidence Gap in Development Performance and Results' in Copenhagen. Co-authored by the two colleagues and presented by Magdalena Orth, their paper on 'Issues on Evaluating Blended Finance' was very well received as the basis for discussion. The workshop also showed that evaluations on blended finance entail new challenges for evaluation work – ranging from confidentiality issues for contracts with private sector stakeholders to the question of additionality. This high-level workshop was part of the consultation process by the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC) on the principles of blended finance and was attended by representatives of state institutions, development banks and development finance institutions (DFIs) and by fund managers.
