In efforts to mitigate climate change through development cooperation, policymakers face the dual challenge of promoting socio-economic development while making substantial contributions to reducing emissions.
This session discusses the opportunities, challenges, and (arguably) conflicting goals of stimulating pro-poor economic development while trying to reduce GHG-emissions. It discusses the pivotal role of Green Bonds in bridging the gap between development goals and clima
Lastly, it will provide an on-the-ground perspective and evidence on the trade-offs and synergies between providing access to energy in rural Africa, supporting pro-poor economic development, and mitigation.
