23.02.2021 - OECD DAC evaluation criteria in Spanish
The updated evaluation criteria of the OECD’s DAC Network on Development Evaluation are now also available in Spanish. The translation has been produced through a partnership between the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Co-operation (MAUC) and its Languages and Translations Office, the Inter-American Development Bank’s Office of Evaluation and Oversight (OVE BID), UNICEF Evaluation Office and the UNICEF Regional Office in Latin America and the Caribbean (UNICEF LACRO), the Centre for Learning on Evaluation and Results - Latin America and the Caribbean (CLEAR-LAC) the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the Costa Rican planning ministry Mideplan and DEval.
The aim in reforming the evaluation criteria was to align the criteria used up to now with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the principles of the 2030 Agenda, make them more comprehensible and allow them to be put to better use in practice. The preparation for the adjustment took place using a global consultation process, getting various stakeholders involved through interviews, surveys and discussions. In 2019, in response to the feedback obtained in this way, the definitions were adjusted and principles for more effective use were established for the criteria. The evaluation criteria were also extended to include the criterion of “coherence”. The aim here is to make it possible to record synergy effects, connections and partnership dynamics more effectively.
The adjusted criteria are available to download on the OECD website in English and Spanish. In addition, the DEval Policy Brief 2021/1 looks into the reform of the evaluation criteria in more detail (German version | Spanish version).
